Bead Babble
Matte finish beads, Snowflake Obsidian, African Turquoise, and Carnelian plus a leaf from a lime tree given to me to care for by my bonus daughter. Two silver toned beads with paisley designs came from a terrifically ugly sweater that has since been returned to Goodwill - I bought the sweater for the 14 amazing buttons. All three bracelets were just added to my online store. Check 'em out: Simple Doubles.

New beading nook. I set up my original beading table almost 5 years ago. It needed to be consolidated. It was liberating to clean off every-single-bead, put each one it's it correct place and start fresh. This space is less spread out. The storage is more vertical. But it's still in my favorite room in the house with a great view of the lake out the window. The desk came from a legendary bag lady I rented from in college, she was a force of nature! BTW...I LOVE organizing spaces and stuff. If you really, REALLY need help re-organizing or purging a space in your home, let me know. Perhaps I can help. Peace. May this holiday season be filled with all your heart's desires. Shipping ends Tuesday, December 20th at noon. We're flying away to NYC, just because we can! The cats are NOT allowed to go to the post office by themselves. They have LOTS of trouble sealing the packing envelopes the bracelets ship out in...their fur gets stuck ALL OVER, it's a mess. Shipping will resume after Christmas. Gift giving is appreciated any day of the year! Don't limit yourself to holiday's. Thanks for a terrific 2016. Looking forward to hitting the road again in 2017. I'll keep you posted regarding shows when the season begins again. Namaste. Why leave the house?
We know we can do ALL our holiday shopping from our laptops, drinking coffee from our favorite mug - or wine from our best crystal, depending on the time of day - no judgement! Keep those comfy jammmies on, skip the bra, the traffic, the cold weather, have your favorite cat sleeping on your lap, throw another log on the fire and shop, shop, shop! I've updated all categories with what's in stock. Over the next few days more bracelets will be uploaded. It takes time, we all must be patient. Let the shopping begin! Don't forget to take care of yourself and get that bracelet you've been lusting for. Self care is the best way to care for those around you. If mama ain't happy... After weaving bracelets all summer long I've ended up with little extras that don't work into bracelets. To use all the interesting bits of this and that I've started making a few earrings and necklaces. Each is unique. I labor over every single piece - it's not the same as weaving a bracelet. This sweet little pair of earrings will be for sale this weekend at the Kenosha Harbor Market. If you haven't been to the Harbor Market, I promise, it's worth the trip! See you there! Do you know what colors make you most happy? If you don't you should take the time to figure it out. Super easy remedy for the blues. Much cheaper than therapy. If you've visited me at a show lately you'll know these are MY happy colors. Faceted new Burma Jade with vintage aqua colored glass, sky blue African white hearts, swaroski crystals, lime green translucent seed beads woven with a turquoise coated jewelers wire over a soft natural leaf green leather. The cherry on the cupcake? A Bakelite lime green button from my grandmother's button jar. There will be a quiz...
Blue apatite is said to stimulate thoughts and ideas, helping to maintain focus, learning, concentration, to think clearly, and to communicate better.
Gosh, who doesn't want a ginormous dose that THAT? Plus apatite is soooo bee-U-tea-FULL. I love the blue apatite together with the warm golden brown of the copper beads and the soft brown leather. When I began making bracelets a few years ago I had no idea where this journey would take me. The beautiful natural materials I work with always teach me something new - I didn't expect that! Freshly woven on this hot, hot summer day, by me, for you. IN-joy. |

I've completely given into my lifelong love of beads, stones, making stuff and stories, not particularly in that order. |
